Thanksgiving is here! As we gather this year to reflect on what makes us grateful, we want to take a moment to thank all of your support, whether it’s helping us to translate Aldiko’s user interface to other languages (by the way, with your help, Aldiko’s user interface has 16 different languages now:), doing beta testing, giving us feedback and suggestions or simply using Aldiko Book Reader app , your support means so much for us.

Aldiko Supports Read An Ebook Week 2011 (March 6-12)

The annual Read an Ebook Week event starts today.  Aldiko continues to support Read an Ebook Week this year.  The purpose of the Read an Ebook Week event is to raise the public awareness of electronic reading. Ebook market is definitely growing rapidly, according to IDPF’s latest data, US Ebook sales has grown by 112% in Q3 2010. Looking at our internal statistics, over 3 millions users are using the Aldiko Book Reader app to read ebooks and Aldiko users download about 1.7 million books per month in total.

To celebrate this week-long special event, different content partners of Aldiko will offer ebooks for free. You can check out the “Read an Ebook Week” special catalog under Smashwords, the large selection of high-quality free books under Feedbooks as well as the free reads under All Romance Ebooks in the Store section of the Aldiko Book Reader app. In additional, we have been working together with content partners to expand the selection of titles in the Store of the Aldiko Book Reader app. New York Times best sellers and other popular English and French titles have been added to the Store, more local language titles will be added very soon.

Aldiko Supports Read an Ebook Week March 7-13

Update (March 17th, 2010) Over the Read and Ebook Week (March 7-13), there were 144, 360 books downloaded through the Aldiko Book Reader applications.

Update (March 7th, 2010): Read an E-book Week kicks off today! As part of the week-long celebration, we have made a special “Read an E-book Week” catalog on the Aldiko Book Reader app. A collection of free and discounted titles are available from March 7-13. Aldiko has announced to support the “Read an Ebook Week ” event this year (March 7-13) to celebrate the joy of electronic reading. The press release is as follows:

Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., February 25, 2010 — Aldiko Limited announced today that it is supporting Read an Ebook Week, an international literary event which will be held in March 7-13.

The purpose of the Read an Ebook Week is to raise the public awareness of electronic reading. Read an Ebook Week’s website (http://www.ebookweek.com/) provides information on the latest ebook reading devices, different ebook stores, benefits of ebooks, as well as the history and the future of ebooks. 2009 has been a very amazing year for Aldiko. We started out with a goal to make more content available to more users. We have launched our ebook reading app for the Android platform and established a number of partnerships with publishers, ebook stores and content providers to make it possible for our users to discover, browse, purchase, download, read and organize ebooks right within the app. Our user base has reached over 200,000 within just a couple of  months.

As we enter into 2010, we will continue our goal of brining more content to our users, providing an easy and convenient way for publishers, ebookstores and content providers to distribute content, as well as improving the overall user experience of the Aldiko app.

Last but not least, we want to thank Aldiko users, our partners and other friends in the publishing and mobile spaces for your great support this year. We are looking forward to continuing to serve and work with you in 2010. Wish all of you a very happy new year!
